Duck Tape FactsDuct tape was invented in 1942 by Permacell, a division of the Johnson & Johnson company. It was first used to seal ammunition cases for the troops in World War II. It was army green in color. The troops noticed water would run off the tape like water off a duck's back so they started calling it "duck tape." They started using it on everthing from airplanes to tents. After the war, it was put to use in the housing boom to seal air ducts. Its color was changed to the gray we know today. The spelling changed to "duct tape." Duct tape has many medical uses because of its abiilty to seal open wounds and hold things together. It's also great on blisters and warts. It can kill a wart after a week's time by suffocating the wart. Put it on your heel if you have to do a lot of walking and it will prevent blisters.
